To get there, just take the Pan American Highway North past the town of Palmares, exiting at the San Ramon off ramp.

Then follow the road straight across town past the Cathedral until you cannot go any further. Make a left and then make an immediate right (at the corner of the Hospital). Follow that road for about 7 blocks (700 meters) until you reach another church.

At the church merge left, and you will start to cross over scenic countryside. From then on, the road is clearly marked with Villablanca signs towards San Carlos and Arenal Volcano another two-hour drive from Villablanca.

At the double speed bumps for the police station, (Guardia Rural) turn right onto a smaller paved road for the last 8 km, merging left at the only fork in the road, to the Villablanca parking area. The last part of the 60 Km is truly serene, however drive carefully and pay attention to cattle crossings and narrow curves.
